Short answer: no, we do not remove old mattresses or furniture.

Koala does not collect, remove or recycle your old mattress, bed or furniture. This applies to every delivery service we offer, including Premium Delivery.

What Premium Delivery does include

Premium Delivery covers delivery into the room of your choice, assembly, and removal of the plastic and cardboard packaging from your new order. It does not cover anything you already own.

Getting rid of your old mattress

A few options that work well:

• Your local council. Most councils run a hard waste or kerbside collection and many accept mattresses. Check your council's website for booking and timing.
• A mattress recycling service. Several operate around Australia and will collect from your home for a fee.
• A removal service or task marketplace, if you would rather have someone take it away on a date that suits you.
• A charity or shelter, if the mattress is clean and in good condition. Worth calling ahead, as most have conditions on what they can accept.

One exception: warranty replacements

If we are replacing a faulty Koala product under warranty, that is different. We arrange collection of the faulty item as part of the claim, and your AfterCare contact will book it in with you.
